Hart of Mull Camping Cabin and Sauna

Our Camping cabin with Sauna Cabin are hired together for the traditional Scandinavian experience.  We feel this cabin should be as much a part of your holiday rather than just somewhere to stay. book now/check availability/ check prices

The Camping Cabin accommodation is a back-to-basics alternative to camping, A one room cabin it can sleep 2 people on a double bed. There is no running water or electric in the cabin though water can be obtained in the sauna cabin for use on the coals and washing with. We now have a shower and toilet block for sole use of the camping cabin this can be found at the side of our house and you will pass it on your way down to the camping cabin. The cabin has a kettle and pans to use on the fire pit along with tin plates cups and cutlery a small gas camping stove and Gas canister can be hired if needed but there is a small communal kitchen area you can use here at Hart of Mull that has a hob oven microwave etc.  Towels can be hired at £3.00 per person along with sleeping bags at £3.00 per person or a double duvet can be hired along with sheet and pillowcases at £12 per stay. 

We now have a new shower and toilet block for sole use of the Camping Cabin. The toilet can be found at the top of the hill before going down to the camping cabin

 

 

 

 

We now have a new addition of a separate shared Kitchen area for you to use during your stay including the use of a fridge/freezer cooking equipment, all you need is to bring food. Also, with use of covered BBQ area and seating, please view details Here for the new communal area. There are also sockets in the kitchen area so mobiles can be charged but not left unattended. WIFI is available in the Kitchen and pagoda area.

The cabin has a covered veranda for sitting and enjoying the view or for you to sit and cool down on after your Sauna

Advisory note, to get the true experience of this off grid cabin, please make sure being off grid with no electric in the cabin is for you. The cabin is separate from the other cabins and down a steep path behind our home. Suitable footwear is advised as it can be slippery in wet weather and a torch if arriving after dark as we have no outside lighting. The cabin is surrounded by land left to nature and the natural environment to encourage nesting birds and butterflies to name a few of the natural wildlife we try to encourage. This off Grid back to nature cabin is not for the faint hearted, but the true feel of being surrounded by nature with the candles and crackling fire make the experience something special. The sauna has a wood fired stove and does heat water for washing with but you can now also use the shower block.

The Camping cabin and sauna cabin are built in the traditional Scandinavian way using Kelo wood (standing dead pine or snag) from the Karelian Forest of Finland and Russia which when combined with a log burning stove for heating and cooking in the camping cabin and a log-fired sauna stove in the sauna cabin a wonderful atmosphere is created in which to relax.

Choose to sit on the covered veranda or by the campfire and enjoy listening to the wildlife or enjoying the stars and then retire inside to the log burner or just to the flicker of candles.

Price is £95 per night min 3 nights. The price includes use of the Camping Cabin and Sauna Cabin and shower block and a starter pack of Logs and kindling.  More Logs and Kindling for Heating and cooking can be purchased from us if needed. Sleeping bags and Towels can also be hired. Please note this cabin has no electricity. We do include a few tea lights in the hire price but recommend you bring more tea lights with you. Tea lights are recommended rather than candles for safety reasons.

The Sauna stove has a water tank attached that heats up during your sauna and then the hot water can be used to wash.
